About FilmTrust
FilmTrust is designed to take advantage of your social connections to
improve the way you look at movies. You can see personalized movie
ratings, reviews sorted so you see the most relevant ones first, and you
can help influence what your friends see.

Below are answers to some questions you may have. If you have other
questions, email us at trust@mindswap.org.
Can I have your data set for my research?
The social network, movie ratings, and movie reviews are all available in
FOAF format. Links are on each user's page. For example,
http://trust.mindswap.org/cgi-bin/FilmTrust/foaf.cgi?user=golbeck.
If you want the data, you can write a FOAF spider to collect it. The
"Search People" page also has a link to give you a list of all our users,
which, with a little parsing, can be transformed into a list of all their
FOAF profiles. We will not provide the data in other formats. If you need
help with FOAF, consult
the
FOAF project website.
Trust data is not available. Our policies dictate that users' trust
ratings will never be shared, even in an anonymized way, so please do not
contact us asking for it.
Why are you doing this?
FilmTrust is a part of a research study to understand how social
preferences might help web sites present information to users in a more
useful way.
How does FilmTrust make money?
We don't. This is not a commercial venture, but rather part of an individual research project and our interest lies in the
science, not profit. We will never release or sell your email address. We
will never have pop ups or banner ads. We will never try to make money on this site.
