Trust on the Semantic Web
Please join the Network!
This project is designed to build and maintain a trust network on the
semantic web.
If you would
like
to participate, you can join the network in several ways:
- Trust-O-Matic -
What is the easiest and fastest way to get in the network? Use
Trust-O-Matic! Enter your email address, your friends addresses, and fill
out a little form to give them ratings. You can also include seeAlso
references for yourself and your friends.
Once you enter values in
Trust-O-Matic, they are stored locally in our system, so you
cannot change them. If you would like to be able to change your
ratings quickly, you should copy the output to a file on your own
server and link it in to the
network. That will allow you to change it any time and see it
updated in real time.
- Rate
your FOAF
File - use Morten Frederiksen's application to load your FOAF file,
give ratings to anyone in it, and receive output that you can upload to
your server and then link in here.
- Submit your FOAF file with trust
ratings - if you would like to manually add trust ratings to your
existing FOAF file, you can provide us with a pointer to your FOAF
URI.
- Convert your Addressbook - For the technically inclined, this is a simple perl script that will parse your addressbook and
create a trust-o-matic page with the addresses filled in for you - all you need to do is rate them!
- Want to learn more about the Ontology? -
Here are details
about the ontology, including ratings, semantic web specifics, and
trust information.
There are also all sorts of fun ways to interact with the network.
- Calculate Trust! - Use our trust algorithm to infer a trust rating between two
people
- Personal Statistics - Find out how many people you've rated, how many people have rated
you, the average
rating
you give, and the average rating people have given you..
- Network
Statistics - How big is the trust network? How many trust ratings are
there? What is the average rating? This will tell you the real-time
answer. Right now it only includes trust files we know about (either from
Trust-O-Matic, or linked in files). This does not include the spidered
network because that takes a long time to load.
- The Top Ten - This is a ranking of the top ten people who have assigned the most trust
ratings.
-
- Visualize the Graph - This link will take you to a static page with
current graph output from the
network.
You can generate an updated graph which will
read the
current network and produce a new graph.
